SPRING UDATE
In my ImagineIT Timeline I had planned to start valve model creations by Feb. 6th; however, due to falling a bit behind on my lessons, conflict with sharing science lab and now PARCC testing, it looks as if we will begin April 4th. I did finish teaching unit B: Bodyworks and really wanted to end the unit with my ImagineIT project of having students design and build artificial heart valves using every day materials as a cultivating Engineering activity; therefore, I will begin writing up my lesson plan March 6th. and begin gathering up the materials to have this lesson up and ready on April 4th.
This is the very first time implementing this lesson from my curriculum and I am looking forward to observing and sharing students' products. With this in mind of sharing, I am now thinking of having students create personal/educational websites to showcase all they've learned in Life Science this school year. I'm hoping they've kept previous work samples to include. I will definitely start at the beginning of the next school year with having students create websites that I can assess quarterly.
